The worst thing about child labor is that kids usually do not get medical help even though their job puts their health in danger. For example, Tariah’s tiny hands bleed from touching broken glass when she has to pick through the dump to earn money. Also thick, dirty smoke stings her eyes which causes eye irritation and she can’t see. Tariah works in a dump that is so dirty that flies swarm around her head. How can this be healthy for Tariah? She is the same age as some of the kids in my sixth grade class! Kids should not have to work like this. That’s why we should ban child labor around the world for good. How can you help?

I liked how you use examples and details in your writing to support your opinion, Zasu. I think if people/students keep informed by reading whatever they can about child labor, then they will get some ideas on what they can do personally to help with this international problem.
Zasu...this shows AWESOME thinking on your part! It takes a great deal of empathy to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and envision what their life may be like. This is especially true when their plight is so very different than our own. I agree with Mrs Gott...providing information to others may be one of the best answers in shedding light on this particular human tradgedy.
Great writing, Zasu! You give a terrific example, then call on the reader to think about how he or she can help with the situation. You really engage the reader.
I agree that child labor should be abolished. Kids' only "jobs" should be to play and grow and learn.

Your so right Zasu. They can be hurt and in danger doing things children shouldn't be doing. Like picking throw trash and other gross jobs. We are so lucky.

I agree, Zasu. That is so sad that the medical help these children get is not available I wonder why these adults can treat these poor children so badly, like trash.

Health care is a huge concern. I can not image anyone working in such hazardous conditions. Your right Zasu, child labor should be banned.
